About Wilderness Journeys

Wilderness Journeys is the creation of a small team of dedicated adventurers, committed to the principles of sustainable tourism and driven by a passion to share with others the earth's remaining wild places and thereby help ensure they are protected.

Our journeys are first and foremost fantastic holidays. They are designed to be inspirational and fun. We do our utmost to ensure that every detail is taken care of and we have devoted many years to creating a range of imaginative and unforgettable adventures. The countries which we feature are truly diverse offering a range of experiences among the world's most dramatic scenery, from walking safaris on the plains of Kenya to trekking in Patagonia's most remote corners, from gentle sea-kayaking in the Galapagos Islands to challenging mountain biking in Bhutan.

Making a difference

Our destinations are also selected on the basis that we can make a difference throughout out visit. We are deeply involved in conservation initiatives and nature focused community-based tourism. For example, we run a walking safari in Namibia, tracking desert rhino, in conjunction with the Save the Rhino Trust.

We firmly believe that tourism can be a tremendous force for the conservation of wild nature and to support remote communities. The local people are the custodians of many of the earth's wild places. Through benefiting from tourism they will increasingly value their wildlife and forests and, in a world which is rapidly changing, have clear motivation to protect their natural heritage.

Our small group adventures are a great way to meet like-minded people and to share experiences and memories with new friends. Alternatively our specialised tailor-made service allows private groups or individuals to enjoy a unique holiday or event in the manner and location of their choice.

Our mission is to be the UK's leading provider of inspirational and sustainable high quality adventure travel experiences and in doing so to support a wide range of wilderness conservation efforts. Our trips visit some of the poorest countries on earth, such as Bolivia, Malawi and Tanzania, and we aim to raise the bar and set the standard for how adventure tour operators around the world operate.
